Student Teaching at Nativity Preparatory School
During my junior year, as apart of my curriculum design class, I participated in a collaborative student teaching event. With two of my fellow art educators in training, I taught the sixth graders at Nativity Preparatory School a lesson about narrative. This lesson, Narrative Storyboards, focused on the concept of narrative through storyboarding. Students created storyboards based off of the narratives of fictional or real life people. This lesson used artistic methods to increase students' communication skills beyond that of verbal storytelling. The following are a few examples of student work and assessment tools for each work, as well as photos of myself teaching the lesson. (Names redacted and faces obscured for student privacy).

Helping a student come up with an idea for his project.

Discussing NWA with a bright and talkative student.

Helping a student understand how to make representational art using basic shapes and designs.

Student working on his storyboard project.

The history of Odysseus. This student tied his art project to what he was learning in English class.

This student told the story of his mother, from her birth to his birth.

This student detailed the history of rap group NWA.
